Over the Hump- Race Day General Information

Race Day Schedule

  • 4:00pm gates open- registration
  • 4:30pm preride course open (must have number plate first)
  • 5:30pm Pre-riding closed
  • 5:30pm Pre-Race talk at Stage with Manny Prado
  • 5:45pm Stage at start (all categories)
  • 6:00pm race start (Stage start in waves, by category & class)
  • Results posted shortly after last racer finishes
  • Post Race Bar-B-Q and Awards, AND SERIES FINAL AWARDS

MARK YOUR LEFT CALF WITH YOUR CLASS

START: staging will begin @ 5:45PM, line up by category, behind sign for your class

Note: consider where you line up at START in your category: Feeling fast?: line up in front — Feeling unsure about your 1st race?: line up toward the back of your category

USE CAUTION: There are some things you should be aware of on the course:

EXERCISE YOUR OWN JUDGMENT in riding this course:

  • Two way traffic near staging area- STAY ON LEFT OF ROAD Be aware on the road leaving and returning to staging area
  • TWO STEEP DOWNHILLS:
    • 1ST AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST FIRE ROAD sharp right, off camber turn right before lake, SLOW DOWN!
    • 2ND: approx ¼ mi. after bottom of 1st downhill STEEP SINGLE TRACK to lake
    • Loose and rocky trail conditions exist, use caution
    • STAY ALERT- Other riders may make unexpected changes during the race, stay alert

BE AWARE: Yellow Course Signs and other markings will be along course

  • (RIGHT ARROW) = right turn
  • (LEFT ARROW) = left turn
  • (UP ARROW) = straight
  • (TWO DOWN ARROWS) = CAUTION STEEP HILL
  • SLOWER RIDERS move to side of trail, let faster rider pass on single-track or tight trail
  • FASTER RIDERS announce yourself early, when closing on a slower rider on tight trail

FINISH: Finish cutoff time is 7:30pm

  • End of last lap enter the finish shoot to left of course
  • Do not change order of finish, wait until your number & time has been recorded
  • IF YOU DON’T FINISH, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER FINISH CHUTE, SIGN “DNF” SHEET NEAR TIMERS
  • # OF LAPS: BEGINNERS/JUNIORS=2 LAPS, SPORT=3 LAPS, EXPERT=4 LAPS

RESULTS/RACE WINNERS & SERIES WINNERS: STAY FOR BAR-B-Q AND AWARDS IN THE GRASS AFTER THE RACE!

FINISH ORDER results will be posted after race. 1st-3rd Winners visit PRIZE TABLE after results are announced to collect prizes.

RESULT TIMES will not be announced night of race, they will be posted online at www.OverTheHumpSeries.com the day after.
